Cruising to the Islands

One of my favorite things to do in near Gothenburg is ride the tram all the way out to the coast, then hop on a ferry and explore the archipelago.  There are thousands of rocky outcroppings, the larger ones bearing adorable cottages and even a restaurant if you're lucky.  I figured the kids would like riding on a passenger ferry, so it was next on my list for a sunny Saturday activity.  The ferries are enclosed, so it doesn't matter if it's chilly outside.  This time we chose to explore Styrsö, mostly because it has facilities.

First we let the kids burn off some energy at the playground.

Then we hiked to the top of the island so we could have a better vantage point and peek in everyone's gardens.

We stopped for a bite to eat at a darling cafe before the ferry returned to take us back to the mainland.

I'm absolutely loving following your journey abroad :) I think it looks super fun and scary all at the same time!! Btw, I think Olivia's jacket was one of noelles hand me downs... It's safe to say that's the furthest our clothes have traveled!
