Steinbrenner-Nyberg

For various reasons Steve and I haven't had much of a chance to check out the Gothenburg restaurant scene, but today we had an appointment at the bank (finally!) and checked out the Steinbrenner-Nyberg nearby for lunch.  I had noticed their location out by Steve's office ("Oh look, honey. They sell chocolate!")  And then I discovered that their downtown locations have a lunch special where you pay a flat price for bottomless soup, homemade bread, coffee, and dessert.

The soup du jour was Cream of Mushroom, and it rivaled that of my all-time favorite from Village Square in Winchester.  There was a variety of fresh bread and flatbread, so I chose one with a crust kinda like an ET bagel with a smear of butter (that's a pun because butter is smör) and slice of cheese.

My sweetie framed by exposed brick... Swoon!

And then the pièce de résistance was the dessert buffet.  I took this picture before they even brought out the cookies.

Come and visit me and I promise to take you there!
